3 X 3 Coach Education Module

Posted on Feb 22 2023

3×3 is FIBA’s super charged format of basketball and is a relative newcomer to the scene. Australia participates across both the U18 and Open Mens and Women age groups in events such as FIBA Asia Cup, FIBA World Cup, FIBA Women’s World Series, Commonwealth Games and Youth Olympics.

Australia continues its tradition of punching above its weight in Basketball having won 5 Gold and 2 Bronze since beginning competing in this formation internationally in 2015.

Recognizing the growing popularity of this format across the States and with an eye to the exciting Commonwealth Games in Victoria in 2026, Basketball Australia have put a module together to help existing 5×5 coaches gain a better understanding of the nuances of the 3×3 format.

This course is ideal for anyone with an interest into the 3×3 format of Basketball that you would have seen at the recent Commonwealth Games and will be played in Victoria when the Games come to Australia. It has been developed to provide learners with the confidence to deliver engaging basketball sessions.

Module outcomes
