Some of the most respected development coaches and performance leaders in Australian and beyond will be guest presenters when Ballarat host the fourth annual Basketball Australia Coaches Conference October 2 and 3.

Ballarat Grammar School will be the venue for the conference, which heralds the first time the national event has been conducted outside the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence in Canberra.

Coaches now have the ability to take advantage of the “early bird” registration for the Conference, with a discounted fee of $190.

That includes all on-court and classroom presentations, coaches folder, lunch and refreshments each day and a special networking session on the Wednesday evening.

Respected NBA shooting coach Dave Love will headline the list of presenters at the event and he will be joined by FIBA World Association of Basketball Coaches President Patrick Hunt as keynote presenters.

NBA Global Academy assistant coach Nico Loreiro has agreed to present an on-court session at the conference on a game sense approach to player development and former St Kilda champion and performance coach Nathan Burke will present on high performing teams.

In what will be a blend of on-court sessions, lectures and keynote, some other presenters include former NBL player David Stiff talking the psychology of coaching and respected association Director of Coaching Gerard Hillier on leadership of club development and representative programs.

In the coming days, further presenters will be announced, including a former Australian Olympic coach, a WNBL mentor and WNBL life member who will provide a unique player’s perspective. There will also be presentations on technology in basketball, as well as sports science and strength and conditioning for basketball.

Coaches are encouraged to take advantage of the “early bird” registration, which will run for just four weeks. Full registration for the fourth Basketball Australia Coaches Conference will be $225.
