Legend to Present at National Coaches Conference

Posted on Feb 28 2023

Australian coaching icon and Boomers mentor Brian Goorjian will headline a quality group of presenters and experts at the Basketball Australia National Coaches Conference to be held at the Australian Institute of Sport in May.

The 6-time National Basketball League Coach of the Year will be one of a host of coaches and industry experts presenting at the conference, which returns after a three year hiatus on May 1 and 2.

Registration for the Conference will open Monday, March 7, with more outstanding presenters and clinicians being named in the coming days. The conference is open to any Basketball Australia accredited coach and will include a series of on-court presentations, keynote talks and discussion groups covering a wide spectrum of coaching and development leadership.

Fresh from a highly successful season with the Bay Area Dragons in the East Asia Super League, Coach Goorjian will present on cutting and team offence, as well as join other basketball leaders in a panel discussion.

A six-time NBL champion as a coach and of course the head coach of the “Rose Gold” Tokyo Boomers, Goorjian is world-renowned as a clinician and his availability for the conference is a huge plus for coaches attending in May.

The Boomers mentor will lead the team into the 2023 FIBA World Cup later in the year, after the Australian team qualified for the show case event with an imposing 11-1 record in the qualification process.

A reminder registration for the Basketball Australia National Coaches Conference will open with “early bird” discounts available on Monday, March 7, 2023.
