Coaching Expressions of Interest – Australian Under 15 Teams

Basketball Australia is calling for Expressions of Interest for the coaching staff positions for the Australian teams contesting the 2022 FIBA Oceania Under 15 Championships, to be held in Guam 21-26 November 2022

Interested and suitably qualified coaches are invited to submit an Expression of Interest for the following positions –

• Head Coach Under 15 Girls
• Head Coach Under 15 Boys
• Assistant Coach Under 15 Girls
• Assistant Coach Under 15 Boys

If coaches are wishing to express interest for more than one role, they will need to submit individual EOI’s for each role.

Desired Experience and skill set –

• Demonstrated experience coaching elite basketball
• Coaching experience at Australian Junior Championships
• Experience in coaching at the NBL/WNBL or NBL1 is desirable, but not essential
• Actively coaching in the BA NPP or State Performance Programs
• Experience in editing/review skills and functional knowledge of Hudl/Sportscode platforms
• Understanding of the Basketball Australia style of play philosophy

The commitment for successful applicants will include –

• Potential 3-day selection and preparation camp in September (dates to be advised)
• Monthly Zoom coaches meetings in the lead up to the event
• Attendance for the 2022 FIBA Oceania Under 15 Championships, including travel to and from Guam on the gazetted days with the team
• Completion of a written report within two weeks of return from the event
• Applicants MUST have a current Australian passport, with at least 6 months validity from date of travel

Other information –

All successful candidates will be required to have a current Working with Children clearance or equivalent and hold a minimum Basketball Australia Association Coach level accreditation.

These are voluntary roles. Basketball Australia will cover all travel, accommodation and meals at the tournament.
