The impressive line-up of presenters for the 2023 Basketball Australia Coaches Conference continues to grow with the news that respected professional coaches Kristen Veal and Adam Forde will present on-court sessions at the event.
The pair will join Australian Boomers mentor Brian Goorjian in presenting on-court clinics at the Conference on May 1 and 2 and will bring a wide range of experiences and expertise to the table for coaches attending.
A former WNBL stand-out, Kristen Veal spent seven years as head coach of the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence Women’s Program and just completed her rookie professional season at the helm of the UC Capitals in the WNBL.
A brilliant playmaking point guard as a player, Veal has overseen the development of a generation of young players in recent years and will share her thoughts and processes in player development at the conference.
The reigning NBL Coach of the Year and Cairns Taipans head coach, Adam Forde guided his Taipans to the play-offs in season 2022-2023 and is respected for his ability to develop talent and establish team culture.
The Taipans were one of the league’s best defensive teams this year and Coach Forde will share some drills and concepts to help coaches refine their team defence.
Registrations for the 2023 Basketball Australia Coaches Conference at the Australian Institute of Sport are now open, with “early bird” discounts available prior to March 17.
