Paralympic gold medalist and respected coach developer Janna Mizens will present on coaching wheelchair basketball as part of the 2023 Basketball Australia National Coaches Conference next month.
Originally from Washington USA, Mizens has a diverse background in professional roles and basketball programs both internationally and within Australia, having studied at University of Illinois and gone on to complete extensive post graduate study.
As a player, Mizens forged a highly successful career, culminating with averaging 9 points and 10 rebounds per game to help the United States to Paralympic gold in Athens in 2004.
Currently working as the National Coach Developer for the Basketball Australia wheelchair programs, Mizens is also the head coach of the Australian Under 25 Women’s team preparing for the World Championships in Bangkok later this year.
Highly regarded as a former elite player and now coach, she will share her knowledge on coaching wheelchair basketball athletes at the National Coaches Conference.
